Malarkey Engineering Specials Desert Sled
"Desert Sled": A Southern Californian off-road race inspired stripped down motorcycle from the 50's and 60's.
Desert Sled Specification:
Component parts were chosen for their suitability and aesthetics. British parts were sourced wherever possible.
Design: Pete Myers, Malarkey Engineering. The design inspiration was the "Desert Sled".
Design cues carried through to the 21st Century Triumph Desert Sled include the absence of the oil cooler, western style handlebars, high level 2 into 1 exhaust, Ohlins classic twin shock suspension and front mudguard brace. The Triumph fuel tank and Keihn carbs again complement the styling. Omiting side panels, mounting the battery beneath the gearbox and locating the ICU and M-unit under the seat gives the stripped back look.
Geometry referenced from the modern scrambler.
